Thomas Cotton Gin

I love the opportunity to photograph rural, old buildings and other subjects. It gives me a chance to capture a little bit of local heritage in a unique way! I was so excited when I was asked to photograph the Thomas Cotton Gin and the surrounding property in Watkinsville, Georgia. Hot Thomas Barbeque is a local gem beloved by many in Oconee County and beyond. Close by is the Gin, which is available as a venue for weddings and other events. Below are […]

Self Portraits, in the Words of Sarah Anne

For this blog post, I’ve turned things over to Sarah Anne, my sometime subject and full-time twin!  I’ve been Taylor’s favorite model since high school, when she got her first fancy camera. She’s documented my fashion forays and faux pax over the years, and as I have learned to dress myself, she’s become an artist. But we hardly have any photos together! So we decided to make some. Friday afternoon, we traipsed around the Farmington Depot Gallery in Bishop, GA, getting tandem […]

Valerie, Chris & Lily

Valerie, Chris and Lily met me at Harris Shoals Park in Watkinsville, Georgia, today for some family portraits! The weather was PERFECT! Lily has the cutest smile, and I loved getting the chance to photograph the three of them. Check out my favorites below! Like what you see? Pamela & Christian

The weather has been positively beautiful lately! Autumn afternoons make for beautiful photo sessions 🙂 Pamela and her son, Christian, ventured on over to Farmington, Georgia with me and we got some great family portraits! These two have the sweetest relationship, and I had such a great time with them! Check out a few of my favorites below!   Like what you see? Amanda’s Baby Shower

Amanda is having a baby! How exciting! And what better way to celebrate baby Claire’s arrival than with dear friends and family? Amanda’s friends put on a beautiful baby shower for her, complete with Pinterest-inspired decorations and crafts and plenty of delicious food. I loved photographing this event because I got to capture so many candid, authentic interactions between these women. I simply love to capture joy, and there was a lot of joy to capture! See a few of my favorite images below…. […]

Kevin & Merinda’s Silly Senior Recital Portraits

Kevin and Merinda are two of my fellow piano students at the UGA School of Music. In celebration of their upcoming senior recital, we decided to take some goofy musical portraits! In Kevin’s words… “One of the difficulties of being a pianist is that you can’t (easily) do fancy outdoor photo-shoots with your instrument. So instead, here’s some pictures of us with instruments that we probably WON’T be playing at the recital. But if you want, you can imagine that […]

Sheri & Seth

Check out some of my favorite images from Sheri & Seth’s wedding! On August 28th, they had a lovely outdoor ceremony at The Gardens at Kennesaw Mountain in Marietta, Georgia. The ceremony was beautiful, and the reception full of family, friends and fun. I had a blast documenting the occasion! Shout out to Payton Adams for second shooting with me! See my favorite images below.   Like what you see? Show some love and “like” Mackenzie Taylor Photography on Facebook!

Victoria

This morning, Victoria and I traipsed around the running trails at UGA’s Intramural Fields. We got some fun shots incorporating two of my favorite things, nature and music! Check out my favorites below.

Fontainebleau, France

After a brief visit to Paris, Sarah Anne and I went to Fontainebleau, France to climb for a few days. You can read about those (mis)adventures over at Sarah Anne’s climbing blog. The forest was incredibly enchanting!   Like what you see?
